Y9 Enquiry on the future of the world's rainforests

When you are investigating the rainforests don't forget that rainforests exist on several continents and it's just not about the Amazon rainforest.

As an introduction here is a site with a virtual tour of a rainforest.

Here is a the Rainforest Alliance's general information page. You could also investigate this organisation as part of your enquiry and find out what they do.

To give you some ideas about why many people believe it is important to save the rainforests follow this link to a mind map created by Paul Foreman on this topic.

Y8 Enquiry on the River Zambezi

Here are some links to resources to get you started on your enquiry into the River Zambezi.

One of the reasons we chose the Zambezi is that it will be featured as part of this year's Comic Relief. Here is a link to the recent press release..

This travel guide to the Victoria Falls will give you some basic facts about the river to help you compare it to the Mississippi.

Also this Trip Advisor page gives you some ideas about why the river is also a popular tourist attraction.

Y7 Endangered species enquiry

Here are some useful links to resources about endangered wildlife on Madagascar and how the wildlife can be protected.

This website gives a good introduction to the wildlife found on Madagascar.

This is the World Wildlife Fund's Website on Madacascar

Of course we can't ignore the popular films made about Madagascar and here is an information and activity pack  that was made to support the first film of the series.

This website IUCN Red List will give you lots of information about your chosen endangered animal. You need to type in you animal's name in the search box and then follow the link.

Would you have guessed the Maurice was meant to be an Aye-Aye?

You could investigate endangered animals such as:

     -Madame Berthe's Mouse Lemur
     -Ring Tailed Lemur
     -Fossa
     -Indri
